Watch: High School, Romance, And Cancer Come Together In New Trailer For ‘Me And Earl And The Dying Girl’

Me And Earl And the Dying GirlComing-of-age, cancer, romance, and trying to survive the complex world of high school? It sounds like a manipulative concoction, one pre-mixed to score maximum tears, but the buzz on "Me And Earl And The Dying Girl" is the complete opposite. In fact, we wrote in our review out of Sundance—where the movie picked up the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award—that this "wonderfully funny, bittersweet, and inventive picture will headlock even the most cynical-hearted viewer and turn him or her into emotional mush." Sounds good to me and a new trailer for the movie has arrived hitting all of those buttons hard.

Directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon, and starring Thomas Mann, Olivia Cooke, R.J. CylerNick Offerman, Molly Shannon, Jon Bernthal, and Connie Britton, the film tells the story of Greg, and his pal Earl who come together and make life just a little better for Rachel, a classmate who’s battling leukemia. And that’s the basic set up for this one that’s by turns humorous and moving, and also a reference heavy movie that cinephiles are going to love.
