While the concept of slick, well dressed and accomplished spies has tended to be the domain of James Bond for five decades, this year he won’t be alone in providing sartorially impeccable action. Warner Bros. is bringing its long developing reboot of the TV series "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." to the big screen, and a new trailer has landed today.
Superman, the Winklevoss twins, Ava, and Jordan Baker —Henry Cavill, Armie Hammer, Alicia Vikander and Elizabeth Debicki— star in the Guy Ritchie movie that sees CIA and KGB agents teaming up to rescue a kidnapped East German mechanic from a shadowy criminal organization. And yes, that old school plot is entirely the point. “What we’re trying to capture are iconic memories of the East-meets-West scenario,” Ritchie told EW. “Getting over the Wall is part of that world.”
"The Man From U.N.C.L.E." opens on August 14th. Watch below.
When I heard that they were actually going to set this in 1963, I thought, okay, that\’ll be cool – retro, low-tech, analog – how could you possibly tell from this noise machine?
Well that was rather embarrassing all around.
So the american is cool and smooth and the russian is cold and tough … are we still on the 80? OH, BTW, this sucks
Cameras. Locations. Actors. Gun fights. They sure have made a movie.
