Despite walking away from the Croisette as one of the most talked-about films — earning the top prize at the Directors' Fortnight — things have been quiet since for Pablo Larrain's "No." But with the fall festival season around the corner, the film will be making a victory lap, and a Spanish language trailer has arrived to give you a peek at what you can expect.
The film follows a brash, young advertising executive, played by Gael Garcia Bernal, as he launches an audacious plan with scant resources and constant scrutiny by the despot's watchmen, to win over Chilean voters and help defeat the presidency of their military dictator, General Augusto Pinochet, in an upcoming referendum. Our review from the Croisette described it as "superbly shot, full of human characters, depicting a galvanizing true story while also showing us the hearts and lives of the people on both sides of the vote."
"No" has already been picked up by Sony Pictures Classics though there is no release date set just yet . The film will hit Locarno and TIFF this fall.
