It was over three years ago when the long brewing supernatural crime thriller “Solace” finally landed a director, Afonso Poyart (“2 Rabbits”). The film went into production in 2013 and has sat on the shelf ever since. Now, this September will finally see the release of the one-time “Se7en” sequel, albeit only in France (for now), and a new trailer has arrived online for the serial killer flick.

Nearly a week has passed since the first trailer for Poyart’s film was posted, and the new trailer is almost a whole minute shorter. Anthony Hopkins stars as a psychic doctor working for the FBI that is on the trail of a serial killer played by Colin Farrell. Based on the two trailers released so far, “Solace” looks every bit as good as one would expect from a movie that’s been shelved for two years and is so far only being released in France. Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Abby Cornish co-star.
“Solace” opens in French theaters on September 9th with no North American release date scheduled yet. Watch the newest trailer below.
Look. Loved Seven. Reason to see this. It doesn\’t look as wonderful as Seven, but that is because Fincher\’s not in it. The acting looks pretty decent, especially from Hopkins and Farrell. So… I need to see it.
Looks like garbage but my never-ending man crush on Colin Farrell means I\’ll see it at least once when it hits VOD or Netflix.
