What happens when the key leads of HBO‘s "Silicon Valley" (TJ Miller and Thomas Middleditch) along with Adam Pally, Alison Brie, Krysten Ritter, Shannon Woodward, Aziz Ansari, Jason Mantzoukas, and Delroy Lindo make a movie that no one seems to be aware of? Well, you get "Search Party," and coming from the guy who wrote "Road Trip," "Old School," and "The Hangover Part II," that alone should give you a good idea of what this is all about.
Scot Armstrong moves from the writing desk to the director’s chair for his first outing, which tells the story of a guy whose wedding gets ruined, who then winds up naked in the middle of Mexico, gets mixed up with drug dealers and has to get his friends to come and save him. Frankly, it sounds like all of Armstrong’s previous movies squashed together and rolled into one, and perhaps there’s a reason this Universal project has remained undated on the stateside calendar. But overseas, it opens very soon in France on December 10th. And surely with all that talent involved, it’s got to have some laughs, right?
