Got a Tip?

Watch: First Full Episode From HBO’s Excellent New Series ‘Togetherness’ From Mark & Jay Duplass

TogethernessLast night, if you decided to skip the Golden Globes and tune into HBO where they kicked off the fourth season of "Girls" (review here) and first season of "Togetherness" (review here), we don’t blame you (follow the links to catch up on the Golden Globes winners here and the highlights from the show). But if you did miss the shows, in particular the great new series "Togetherness," HBO has made it a little easier for you.

Grab your morning cup of coffee and take lunch a little early, as the network has dropped the first full episode from the Jay and Mark Duplass-written-and-directed show. Starring Mark Duplass as well, along with Steve Zissis, Melanie Lynskey, and Amanda Peet, the show follows Brett and Michelle, a couple whose ten-year-old marriage is in trouble, and is complicated by the arrival of Brett’s best friend Alex and Michelle’s sister Tina, under their roof. And the debut episode introduces us to the ensemble, and how the quartet all come to cross paths, while highlighting the heart and humor of the show that only gets richer as it goes on.

It may not be the flashiest offering on HBO right now, but it’s definitely one of the most satisfying. Click below to watch the first episode of "Togetherness."

  1. meh. found it to be overwrought, clichéd, and whatever the opposite of funny is. clueless characters in scenes we\’ve seen a thousand times in better offerings. great cast wasted on drivel. nothing unique about this one, folks, move right along.
