It’s no secret NBC has hit a rough patch over the last few years with show after show failing to catch on with audiences. The peacock network is hoping that will change with the sci-fi drama “Believe,” from the dream team of J.J. Abrams and the newly Oscar-minted Alfonso Cuarón, who directed and co-wrote the pilot. If you already can’t wait for its premiere next week, the network has released a new preview of the premiere to whip you up into a frenzy.
Uploaded onto Hulu (via Deadline), the preview launches into the pilot’s opening scene where Cuarón’s fingerprint is immediately felt as it begins with one of the director’s trademark long takes as you experience a crash from inside the car. Although it’s a relatively brief shot, at least compared to his more iconic big-screen work, it bodes well that the Oscar-winning director was able to bring some of his style to a network TV show and hopefully that translates to the rest of the episode.
“Believe” premieres this Monday, March 10th on NBC before switching to Sunday nights for the rest of the series’ run. Watch the opening scene below, followed by two more clips and a behind-the-scenes look at the show.
