Sorry, “X-Men: Days Of Future Past,” “Guardians Of The Galaxy,” “Edge Of Tomorrow,” “Transformers: Age Of Extinction,” “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and whatever other summer blockbuster is coming around the corner—in terms of crafting genuine excitement, “Godzilla” has you beat. And you don’t need to look any further than this new trailer for Gareth Edwards‘ blockbuster debut.
Running two-and-a-half-minutes long, this new, extended look at the movie is simply hair-raising. For the new take on cinema’s most famous monster, Edwards has put together a movie that looks like it will bring the required spectacle, but underscored with an emotional current and genuine sense of dread and awe. Of course, ads are one thing and the finished product is another (see “Prometheus“), but we have our fingers crossed that Edwards has nailed it.
“Godzilla” stomps the Earth on May 16th.

Oh. My. God.
As a survivor of the fatal wave in Deep Impact, I can tell you from first hand experience that this is exactly how massive, fatal, CGI tsunami waves are supposed to look.
Where's Sally Hawkins?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks slightly more retarded than "Contagion," which is mostly a compliment for a dude who's only made one low-budget creature feature so far.
More emotional than Pacific Rim, but as others have noted, the CGI of the tsunami portion needs work. The Impossible did it much better.
This film will be rated "FA" for effing awesome.
not to be unfair, this certainly looks as good as could have been expected, but the prometheus promotional material was still better than this.
PLEASE don't suck!
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
Never tough I'd hear a Star of the Lids track in a big Hollywood Blockbuster Trailer. Nor Ligeti either for that matter…Bold choices indeed.
This looks fantastic !!! I wasn't expecting much from this project, but the trailer makes it interesting… Let's wait and see the final product…
Nice Trailer, but the CGI-Water looks fake as hell.
