With only a few weeks to go until its release, anticipation is reaching something closer to fever pitch for one of the biggest films of the year. Starring one of the most hotly touted young actresses of the moment, in the biggest stretch of her career to date, the film delves into the dark heart of Sweden, uncovering the truth behind a series of murders, and the rotten heart of one of the country's most prominent families. With reviews set to hit any day now (after that embargo controversy earlier in the week), we've now been given our most revealing glimpse yet at Emma Roberts in "The Girl With The Tramp Stamp Tattoo."
Ok, yeah, so Funny or Die have landed a timely spoof of David Fincher's feel-bad Christmas movie from directors Matt & Oz, with Roberts filling in as a trashy, permanently hungover version of LIsbeth Salander, with "True Blood" star Joe Manganiello subbing in for Daniel Craig and Ray Wise taking on Christopher Plummer's part. And you know what? It's pretty funny. Capturing the mood of the trailer nicely (including a Reznor-ish electronic score), with some nicely deadpan performances circling around a hilarious turn from Roberts that reminds us why we've been a fan, despite some disappointing movies of late ("Scream 4," "The Art of Getting By").
Yeah, it's pretty one-joke, but it's a good joke, and they find a few spins on it. So if the mania around "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" is getting a bit much, you can find the antidote below, while David Fincher's big-screen counterpart lands on December 21st.
I laughed out loud when she knocked down all the rare flowers.
Scream 4? Disappointing? That film was so much fun!
Emma Roberts is really gorgeous and very talented. She's better than this.
