Watch: Defiant New Trailer For Amazon Series ‘The Man In The High Castle’

The Man In The High CastleAmazon has been nipping at Netflix’s heels for some time now and with the recent Emmy wins for “Transparent,” it’s clear that Amazon is narrowing the prestige gap between themselves and their biggest competitor. The latest volley from the online shopping giant-cum-streaming service is an adaptation of Philip K. Dick‘s beloved alternate history novel, “The Man in the High Castle,” and now a new trailer has arrived ahead of the series’ premiere next month.

The trailer for the Amazon series follows the recent trend of using grim covers of popular songs which, in this case, is a dark take on Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.” The new series, based on Dick’s novel of the same name, takes place in a version of 1962 where the Axis powers — Germany, Italy and Japan — and not the Allied powers won World War II. As a result, the continental United States is divided into three parts: the Japanese-controlled Pacific States of America in the area west of the Rocky Mountains, a neutral zone called the Rocky Mountain States, and the Great Nazi Reich which comprises most of the eastern half of the United States.

“The Man in the High Castle” premieres on Amazon Prime next month on November 20. Watch the trailer below.
