After spinning its wheels for the last couple of seasons, "Dexter" ended season six with a helluva cliffhanger, with the lead serial killer's cop sister literally catching him in the act. As we already know, season seven will begin right where we left off (in case you missed it, you can watch the first two minutes of the first episode here). Now, a new trailer has dropped for the upcoming season, and it appears that Dexter will be playing a game of cat and mouse to keep the depths of his crimes under wraps.
It looks like the stakes are going to be raised in a major way, as the central subject of the new run of episodes appears not be a new criminal to track down, but Dexter himself. It seems that Deb is like a dog with a bone about what she saw, going back to investigate both the Ice Truck Killer case and Bay Harbor Butcher murders and starting to see some eerie parallels with what she witnessed Dexter doing in the church. But of course, her brother won't go down without a fight, and it seems even his sister is fair game as a victim if it means keeping him out of jail or worse.
Compelling stuff indeed, and we're really curious to see where this season goes. "Dexter" kicks off on Showtime on September 30th. [Dark Horizons]
Speechless, F**KIN' SPEECHLESS. I can't believe they gave so much away in the trailer! Anybody got a time machine that can zip me to Sept. 30th?
The new season cannot come soon enough! My favorite Dexter moments come from situations in which he doesnât possess control; and heâs never lost control in this magnitude before. Iâm glad that Deb is staying true to herself, and not just immediately forgiving Dexter. A co-worker at Dish and I have been re-watching the previous seasons lately with Blockbuster @Home. Itâs so convenient to order the DVDs by mail, or exchange them in the store. Watching them, has made the wait for the new season easier to cope with. Whatever Deb decides to do, I donât think Dexter will hurt her; she may be Lieutenant, but sheâs still his sister.
HOLY SHIT. This trailer almost makes up for how bad Season 6 was. Seriously, shit is going to hit the fan this season. I only hope they find some way to deal with the whole Deb in love with Dex thing and quickly get it out of the way. It's so icky and a betrayal of Deb's character. But again, HOLY SHIT, it looks like fantastic things are in store.
About time. No more cop outs. The trailer nearly took my head off!
