Watch: Daniel Craig’s James Bond Fights In Heineken Commercial, Plus Preview Sam Smith’s ‘Spectre’ Theme Song

Daniel Craig HeinekenWhile James Bond might the world’s most capable secret agent, he’s also a helluva marketing machine. 007 knows how to sell brands, and with "Spectre" coming soon, the advertising cycle is beginning to kick into gear. Today Daniel Craig does his contractual duty in a new ad for Heineken.

The super-sized spot runs 90-seconds long, and you could bide the time playing a game of spot-the-stunt-double. With the film shoot already on a tight schedule to meet next month’s release date for the picture, I can’t imagine Craig had a whole lot of time to make commercials, and you can tell. From poor green screen to plenty of distant cuts when someone other than Daniel Craig is clearly standing in, it’s not the most well-assembled promo. And the digital cameo by Hervé Villechaize is… weird….

Meanwhile, Sam Mendes has sort of addressed the rumors that Christoph Waltz is indeed playing Blofeld in the new movie. "The B-word! We talk about it all the time. It’s the great figure from the Bond vault, as it were," Mendes told Empire (via Digital Spy). "There was this big spectre hanging over the movie and the franchise, which is Blofeld, and what happened to the supervillain. That’s all I’m going to say." Guess we’ll just have to see the movie.

Lastly, this Friday sees the release of Sam Smith‘s "Spectre" theme "Writing’s On The Wall," and the string laden tease sounds appropriately swoony.

  1. He drank it and it was ludicrous. The same way he wouldn\’t drive a Ford Focus or whatever it was in Casino Royale. Bond has highly sophisticated tastes and is not a beer swilling, pork scratching munching, Ford driving pleb. They might as well cast Adam Woodyatt in the next film.
