Watch: Chris Evans Shares Thoughts On Plans To Cut ‘Snowpiercer’ Plus 3 Mini-Featurettes For The Film

Already a huge success in his native country, Bong Joon-ho’s post-apocalyptic “Snowpiercer” is still without a stateside released date as its western distributor The Weinstein Company is reportedly looking to — controversially — trim twenty minutes from the film presumably to make it more more palatable to American audiences. Though there hasn’t been any word from Harvey Weinstein himself, the film’s lead actor Chris Evans has weighed in with his thoughts on the proposed changes.

In an interview with Collider (via ComicBookMovie.com), Evans tiptoes around outright criticizing the famed producer, saying “I have not spoken to him yet but it was certainly a topic of discussion in Korea. I love the movie [but] I’ve only ever seen the full 125-minute version and it’s beautiful … but I’ve heard he’s looking to cut some things down and it’s tricky.” “

“There’s usually a method to Harvey’s madness,” Evans added. Despite his diplomacy, however, Evans didn’t disagree when the interviewer used some less-than-polite terms to describe the situation. You can watch the full interview below, which includes the “Captain America” actor talking about his upcoming directorial debut, along with some short featurettes from “Snowpiercer” with some new footage to help ease the sting of waiting for that ever-elusive North American release date.
