With Joe Wright coming off the magnificently theatrical "Anna Karenina," you would think that the folks over at Chanel might want him to do something that requires more than turning on a camera and pointing it at Brad Pitt. Guess not. The fashion company has unleashed the new spot for their upcoming campaign for Chanel No. 5 and it looks like Pitt has some leftover voiceover from "The Tree Of Life" he didn't use.
Granted, when you have Brad Pitt fronting your product, you probably don't need to do much to sell him or whatever it is you're trying to move units of. And we suppose costs are kept down if you make sure concept doesn't require him to leave the studio. But as usual, it's another ad that purports to say a lot without actually saying anything. Inevitable. Watch below. Update: The second ad from the campaign.
The most amount paid to an actor for 31 seconds of work? He got paid some crazy amount.
This looks like an audition tape for a soap opera or something. 😛
pays the bills
Proves my point about him being a mediocre actor.
I usually think Brad is UNDERRATED but everything about this video is poorly conceived and dare I say, laughable. Poor Brad…
such a shame. i usually rely on chanel ads to be completely fantastical beautiful amazing. a la

Pointing the camera at Brad and having say something artsy was pretty much all they wanted. He sounds the same in his interviews.
So Lame!
it's a perfume ad. get over yourselves.
What a load of balls. I feel embarrassed having seen it.
Brilliant direction. A wide shot and a close up. Stanley Kubrick would be jealous.
