Got a Tip?

Watch: Bella & Edward Are The Same Temperature Now In Teaser Trailer For ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2’

nullWell, the honeymoon's out of the way, the baby's been born, and now the marriage of Bella & Edward (Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson), the lead characters of the "Twilight" franchise, is going the same way as many other marriages — into a series of fights. However, it's not the newlyweds who are arguing; it's the new Mr. & Mrs Cullen, along with Edward's family, and Jacob's pack of werewolves, against vampire authority the Volturi, who believe that their child Renesmee is an abomination, and needs to be destroyed. Which is all a long-winded way of saying that the first full teaser trailer for "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part Two" has arrived (to coincide with Edward's 111th birthday: you people do know he's a fictional character, right?), and it looks like it has the biggest scope of the series so far.

Now a full-on vampire, Bella is leaping around the woods like a veritable John Carter, but Michael Sheen and his oddly-costumed cohorts are on their way, and the Cullens are forced to find allies from all around the vampire world (including, it would seem, The Last Airbender), and prepare for one almighty final battle, which seems to take place on a frozen lake. Because we've never seen that before on a film.

Anyway, all the things you've come to expect from the "Twilight" franchise seem to be present and correct — smoldering looks, flat line readings, terrible special effects — so it's pretty much business as usual for the fifth installment, the second to be directed by "Dreamgirls" helmer Bill Condon. Look, you already know if you're seeing this or not, but you can watch a minute or so of it below, courtesy of Digital Spy. "Breaking Dawn Pt. 2" hits theaters on November 16th.

  2. Critics & People its a series of books based on FANTASY ! SMH …. I personally think its quite comical that so many critics and haters spend so much oxygen , time , energy and are so bent on bashing a ONCE AGAIN FANTASY SERIES ! But even with all the bashing and criticism of the actors and the author , ONE FACT STILL REMAINS ….. THE TWILIGHT SAGA MOVIES HAVE ALL MADE MILLIONS AND THE ACTORS AS WELL HAVE MADE MILLIONS AND IT BECAME A PHENOMENON !! KEEP ON HATING LOL

  3. Oliver, this is a film that is based on a book. So if you think that it suffers from a lack of originality (like you mentioned the frozen lake), then I suggest you fault the author instead, who probably wrote it that way. Stephenie Meyer had a lot of control over the film, so she must've approved it. People don't seem to like it when adaptations deviate from their source material.

  4. "Flat line readings": You do realise that the vampires in this story are on the whole MEANT to be stoic on a count of their harsh circumstances, right? They're not exactly 'everyman', jolly characters.

  5. For the sake of comparison, Prometheus isn't exactly A* material. Its cinematography was beautiful but with the exception of that and a few lead actors, I thought it had a rather weak supporting cast and the plot was trying to tackle too many things, which made it jumbled and difficult to follow. At least Twilight consistently feels like an ensemble movie and it entices you to care about the fates of the characters. Prometheus was so choppy and fast with the deaths of various characters that I barely noticed or cared when they happened.

  6. MICHAEL SHEEN LOOKS SO FRIGHTENING WITH HIS SCARY MAKE-UP! God, is that supposed to be a joke? The winterland scenes do feel like they were shot on a cheap set.

  7. …To clarify, I wasn't stating that I think the Twilight films are "badly-made." They'll never be in league of, let's say, Scarface (not that many films would) but it bugs me that some critics won't even give them, or the actors in them, a chance. I'm not at all excited to see a third Men In Black movie, but I don't go around bashing it. Why even comment at all on a film that you figure you won't like? Go and see films that DO interest you. I'll be seeing Breaking Dawn because I was a faithful fan of the books and I've always thought that Rob and Kristen were well-cast as the leads. I still think that the first Twilight film was the strongest, followed by the fourth. I'm also curious to see how they handle bringing Renesmee to the screen, because I doubt that would've been an easy task.

  8. You know what irritates me more than badly-made films? Reviews like yours which are clearly pre-biased before a film has even been released. A typically ignorant comment like yours that judges it simply because you find the plot too lovey-dovey or non-believable (which is hilarious, considering this is a FANTASY series.) Well, this isn't Prometheus. You're not going to get straight-laced sci-fi or action. Critics should know by now that this is first and foremost a romantic fantasy saga. Pre-judging a film based on a quick trailer is ridiculous. If you want to complain rather than give the film a chance then that's your prerogative, but as proven each other, these films make millions at the box office. So evidently, snarky comments such as yours don't bother these people, as they pay to see it regardless. Also, I seriously doubt that people would bother to repeatedly waste their money on a film that doesn't interest them. I know I wouldn't.
