Got a Tip?

Watch: Before You See ‘Man Of Steel,’ Remember Everything Wrong With ‘Superman Returns’ In 6 Minutes

nullMan, you gotta feel a bit for Brandon Routh. It was only seven years ago that he was given the duty to play Clark Kent and reboot the Superman franchise in Bryan Singer‘s “Superman Returns” and well… that didn’t quite work out…

Another one of those “Everything Wrong With…” videos (the lesser cousin to “Honest Trailers”) has surfaced, this time picking apart “Superman Returns” in six minutes. Nothing is spared here, not even Marlon Brando‘s famous voice-over that the studio negotiated to use with his estate, though to little lasting effect. Really, the whole endeavor was pretty misguided from the casting downward, but here’s a reminder why Warner Bros. decided to scrap plans for a sequel that was looking at bringing Brainiac and Bizarro in as possible villains, with Singer directing again.

After that, check out this kinda dorky but kinda endearing clip of a drummer adding his own beats to the trailer music for “Man Of Steel.” It’s not half bad. And in case you forgot, Superman flies high again on June 14th. [The Wrap/Comic Book

  1. I'm fine with people having problems with Superman Returns. I have problems with it. But when you're calling out the number of Scrabble titles, I no longer have any reason to take the rest of your arguments seriously. Your nitpicks have received the same level of attention as any legitimate qualm with the movie.

  2. I'm sure Man of Steel will be fun but I liked Singer's version. To forget that shitty video they posted here, check this one out:

  3. God, I HATE the fucking assholes who make these videos. While Singer is working on X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, this basement fungous is going over very letter on a scrabble board in SUPERMAN RETURNS. RETURNS was muddled in terms of its plot, but very graceful as a drama. That's probably was what was wrong with it for most viewers – it was more about characterization than loud spectacle. I'm sure Snyder and Nolan will rectify that.

  4. That drum cover video makes me want to launch a full scale attack on YouTube's servers. The drum cover's pretty cool, the video is as douchey as it gets…
