March will be be a bit of a testing ground for fairy tale movies, as two major tentpole movies re-imagining familiar tales will hit the multiplex in all their CGI glory. And in 3D too, no less. Having lived through two tepid Snow White movies last year, will audiences be more wary of "Oz The Great And Powerful" and "Jack The Giant Slayer"? We'll soon find out, but a couple of clips from Bryan Singer's forthcoming effort aren't exactly the most enticing teasers.
Originally slated to hit theaters last summer but pushed to this spring, we're still scratching our heads as to why anyone greenlit this movie with the still untested Nicholas Hoult in the lead. Granted, "Warm Bodies" opened at number one, but it was sold on concept and was obviously a much less risky financial investment. So we're a bit surprised (or maybe not?) that these two clips from the movie don't feature him at all, and instead try and get you excited by spectacle with the giants roaring and Ewan McGregor leading a battle against them. There is certainly a lot going on, but it's still pretty…meh…
Anyway, "Jack The Giant Slayer" arrives on March 1st. Are you excited at all? [via Bleeding Cool]
