Watch: Aubrey Plaza Questions Mark Duplass’ Calibrations In Clip From ‘Safety Not Guaranteed’

nullOne of the handful of films to come out of Sundance this year with glowing buzz has been "Safety Not Guaranteed" starring Aubrey Plaza, Mark Duplass and Jake Johnson. The film from director Colin Trevorrow is based on a true story/internet meme, and follows a trio of journalists who investigate a personal ad placed by a man seeking a partner in a time-travel experiment. Though they hope to capture a light, fluff piece, what results is something a bit more unlikely than everyone expected.

The first clip from the flim has arrived, giving a look at Plaza (journalist assigned to the story) and Duplass (the time-traveling enthusiast) squaring off in an aisle of the grocery story where he works. It's a great little moment, with Plaza doing her usual snark routine and Duplass doing something a bit more quirky than what we know him for. But the film isn't just high concept and wacky characters — as we noted in our review from Sundance, the picture "manages to construct a narrative with enough thematic and emotional resonance to make audiences not just like the characters, but care about them." And it's one those of us who couldn't make it to Park City are looking forward to seeing.

"Safety Not Guaranteed" opens on June 8th. Watch the clip below. [Moviefone]

  1. Am pretty into Duplass' hairstyle in this film much better than in any other films including Your Sister's Sister, which is just his usual hairstyle.
