Will Ferrell likes to make commercials. He’s done regional ads for Old Milwaukee, a Super Bowl spot for Scorpion Beer to help the release of “Casa De Mi Padre,” and he’s back once again, with more product weirdness and another movie to promote.
Ron Burgundy has emerged to front six spots for the Dodge Durango and is touting, in Ferrell’s unique, surreal way, the manliness of the vehicle. It’s mildly amusing stuff, though we’ve seen this riff before from Ferrell and better, but we suppose if this marketing synergy has to happen, we’re glad they’re putting some thought into it. Frankly, it’s better than every other man-vehicle ad which has a truck driving through canyons and creeks, hauling lumber or boulders, usually tilted at some absurd angle.
