The weather is getting warmer, the days are getting longer, and soon it will be the season of roadtrips and vacations. But if you’re not able to get away, hanging out with Steven Coogan and Rob Brydon as they galavant around Italy might be the next best thing.
Following “The Trip,” the pair have reunited for “The Trip To Italy,” with Michael Winterbottom once again behind the camera. And thus far, our impression of the project has mostly been determined by the clips that have landed online that have milked the Michael Caine impressions even further. But this new trailer shows off a lot more, and yes, while the pair are still dropping their best imitations of various celebrities, there is also an undercurrent of sadness, with these two guys realizing they’re not as young as they once were.
“The Trip To Italy” TV series is now airing abroad on BBC and IFC Films will bring the theatrical cut to cinemas later this year. Watch below.
