For all the hype about the 70mm release of Quentin Tarantino‘s "The Hateful Eight," there is a small irony that the first impression of the movie that almost everyone will get will be from the film’s online trailers and promos. Of course, The Weinstein Company has a job to do in marketing the film, but for what’s being billed as a unique roadshow experience, "The Hateful Eight" is getting a pretty standard advertising rollout.
So it goes, and eight clips from the revenge western have landed online. They add up to about eight minutes from the three-hour-plus movie, so don’t worry too much about having the movie spoiled or ruined — it’s a drop in the bucket. While your computer screen doesn’t do justice to panoramic approach taken by Tarantino, you’ll just have to imagine what the movie looks like when it unspools as the director intended at your local multiplex.
"The Hateful Eight" opens on Christmas Day.
Turn up your volume, they all work.
