Well, as you might have already heard bubbling around the interwebs, New York City press got to see “The Great Gatsby” over the weekend, and while lips are firmly sealed until the embargo lifts, Warner Bros. has plenty to share for those eagerly awaiting the movie. Seven clips from the film have landed online, and while recent weeks have focused on the party atmosphere around the film via the soundtrack, these glimpses put the focus squarely on the characters.
Carefully selected, these clips lay out the general story Baz Luhrmann is bringing to the big screen via F. Scott Fitzgerald‘s legendary book. The myth of Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio) haunts each of the clips, with who exactly he is being both the source of wonder and awe. He pines for Daisy Buchanan (Carey Mulligan), who is married, while his friend Nick Carraway remains a confidante who is unable to prevent the tragedy of emotions that will follow. Of course, everything looks impeccable, and remember, these scenes will be in 3D as well.
“The Great Gatsby” arrives on May 10th.
HE LIED TO MY FACE ON MY BIRTHDAY AND DISRESPECTED THE US MILITARY. PROSTITUTES FROM ENGLAND ARE GOING DOWN. PROSTITUTES FROM ENGLAND ARE STUPID WHORES WHO DID NOT GO TO SCHOOL AND THEY SLEEP WITH MARRIED MEN. GOOD FOR NOTHING WHORES FROM ENGLAND ARE TRASH. HIGH SCHOOL DROP OUTS CLEARLY DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY'RE DOING WHEN THEY SACRIFICE AMERICAN SOLDIERS FOR TRASH FROM ENGLAND. Allowing prostitutes from England to corrupt American family units for the benefit of the British economy while insulting our US military AGAIN, Leonardo? Tell your British trash to go corrupt British family units.
Wow, it looks a lot better than I expected. From what I've gathered from the interwebz, early reactions are pretty positive. Mostly drooling over Leo D so I don't know what that says about the quality of the film… but good to hear something at least!
