With promotion rolling out as far back as last winter, Universal put all their chips on the table for Angelina Jolie‘s "Unbroken," but it’s not clear just yet whether or not it will pay off. The first reviews were mixed (here’s ours), and no one was particularly over the moon with the WWII survival tale, but things can change, and even if critics weren’t bowled over, audiences are another matter. Things are moving ahead full force before "Unbroken" hits theaters on Christmas Day.
Six clips have landed online for the movie, so you can see firsthand Jack O’Connell play Louis Zamperini, the WWII vet who survived for 47 days on a raft in the ocean following a near-fatal plane crash, only to be caught by the Japanese and endure harsh treatment in a POW camp. After those clips, you can watch a 13-minute Academy talk with Jolie, O’Connell, Japanese actor Miyavi, and producer Matthew Baer, about the making of the movie and more.
