The Steve Jobs biopic starring Ashton Kutcher is on its way to the big screen. With a release date for “Jobs” right around the corner, audiences are still going to have to decide whether they can buy the guy from “That ’70s Show” as the innovating head of Apple Computers.
The latest batch of clips hopes so, although the gimmicks seem to be overpowering the movie. In case you’re against watching movie clips on a webpage, six clips have been released including three Instagram exclusive clips and one Facebook featurette. The Instagram clips are only a couple seconds and feel sort-of GIF-like. The first clip certainly shows the chemistry between Jobs and partner Steve Wozniak (Josh Gad), although the funny discussion between the nerd (Wozniak) and the intelligent Jobs is hard to swallow; and again it’s difficult to not see Kelso and the guy from “Book of Mormon” in funny wigs and facial hair. The Facebook featurette is interesting, if only to hear Kutcher refer to Jobs as a force to be reckoned with.
“Jobs” is certainly tackling a big subject, but audiences will just have to wait and see the finished product (leave your iPods at home) when the film drops in theaters August 16th. Check out the clips below along with a ton of new pics.
