Watch: 3-Minute Supercut Of Zack Snyder’s Use Of Slow Motion

Zack Snyder is a pretty divisive guy. Some believe him to be singular filmmaker with an eye for visual flair, but to others he’s simply a hack who lacks all subtlety and simply regurgitates the same tricks over and over again. As we wait another year and a half to see how “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” turns out, a new video has arrived online that catalogues what may be the defining hallmark of Snyder’s visual style: his use of slow-motion.

Edited by Jaume R. Lloret, the three-minute long montage pulls together all the slow-motion shots from four of Snyder’s films: “300,” “Watchmen,” “Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole” and “Sucker Punch.” The video has no sound effects and no dialogue, just accompaniment from Emily Browning’s cover of The Eurythmics “Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)” from “Sucker Punch.” Seeing all of Snyder’s uses of slow-motion is unlikely to sway your opinion on his work, but it’s still interesting to see what images and actions Snyder chose to slow down.
