Watch: 2 Trailers & Featurette For Neil LaBute’s Incestuous DirecTV Series ‘Billy & Billie’ With Adam Brody

Billy & BillieWhile he might not be as much a part of the cultural conversation now as he was circa his breakout films "In The Company Of Men" and "Your Friends & Neighbours," Neil LaBute is still pushing buttons. His latest effort to shock viewers is his DirecTV series "Billy & Billie," and a few promos have arrived.

Adam Brody and Lisa Joyce star in the series following two step-siblings who fall in love. As you might expect, this news doesn’t get the best reception, and the whole thing is told in a jaunty sitcom vibe. It’s not clear just how deep the show will get into certain issues, but the teasers clarify that the lead characters are step-siblings. After that, you can check out a featurette detailing the creation of the show.

"Billy & Billie" arrives on March 3rd. Watch below.

  1. Saw it. Liked it. In fact, I set it on \’series record\’…I don\’t do that too often. The actors handle LaBute\’s skill with zillions of words in a paragraph dialogue in an effortless way, and that, I assure you, is difficult.

So, well done, cast and crew. Well done, indeed.

  2. greg: you\’re right about one thing–they are not related and while that is true, it\’s still a strange social taboo that many people find unsettling. the show has not aired yet so it\’s hard for anybody to say whether it\’s "good or not" and are just reacting to the general theme/content of the series. if you watch it, i hope you like it…

  3. I don\’t understand how this is pushing buttons. They are both adults and are in no way related. I don\’t know how long the parents have been married, but I doubt it was that long. This seems like people are just calling something risqué just to get some hype for it without actually going off whether it is good or not.
