There are men with swagger, confidence and plenty of game, and then there’s “Don Jon.” The name of the lead character created by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, in his directorial debut he presents and portrays the ultimate guido player, who has no problem landing chicks, but soon meets his match, arriving in the comely shape of Scarlett Johansson.
And so begins your average, ready-made comedy right? Well, not exactly. You see Don Jon has an addiction to pornography, and when an older woman (Julianne Moore) crosses his path, he finds himself re-evaluating his own emotional and physical needs and desires. It’s smart, and very funny stuff, and as we noted in our review out of Sundance, it’s a “a beguiling romantic comedy with a heart, soul and pulse that will pleasure you for a full 90 minutes with hardly breaking a sweat.” Below, you’ll find two clips that give a nice sense of the movie, but before that, here’s a chance to see it early.
