Cannes: 2 Clips From Sean Penn’s Panned ‘The Last Face’ Starring Javier Bardem & Charlize Theron

Every year at the Cannes Film Festival, there are films that are universally praised, others that cause a sharp divide, and then those that get a critical torching. And this year, Sean Penn‘s “The Last Face” seemed to be that film. Our critic in the field hated it, and he wasn’t the only one, as the drama/romance about aid workers in Africa starring Javier Bardem and Charlize Theron found no love from those assembled on the Croisette.

However, most of us have yet to see the movie with our own eyes, so is it really that bad? Well, you can get a taste of Penn’s picture with these two montage-y clips, which don’t feature much full-on dialogue, but offer music and voiceover as the soundtrack.
