Watch: 2 Clips From Sundance Film ‘Austenland’ Starring Keri Russell

nullNaturally, as the Sundance Film Festival continues to unfold in Park City, Utah, more clips and trailers from films featured in the festival are being released this week. This time around, we’ve got two clips from “Austenland,” which debuted last week, showcasing the film’s quirky, offbeat charm. You also get a pretty good taste of some of the cast, which includes Keri Russell, Jennifer Coolidge and "Flight of the Conchords" star Bret McKenzie.

Russell leads the film as a woman obsessed with the BBC production of “Pride and Prejudice,” who travels to an Austen-styled England resort to find her perfect gentleman. The film marks the feature debut of “Napoleon Dynamite” and “Nacho Libre” co-writer Jerusha Hess, and it’s based on the novel of the same title by Shannon Hale. Also of note, Stephanie Meyer, the creator of the "Twilight" series, helped produce the film.

The picture has gotten a lukewarm reception out of Sundance so far, with one of our own calling the film “playful,” containing some “great comic performances,” but ultimately “it doesn’t all come together.” “Austenland” should expect a release later this year with Sony Pictures Classics picking up the distribution rights. 1. Looks unbearably "meh." The only Jane Austen novel worthy of the contemporary adoration is PERSUASION, because of its quiet melancholy, and one that gets lost under those cutely alliterated titles like PRIDE AND PREJUDICE and SENSE AND SENSIBILITY. Ladies, if a guy is aloof towards you, it means he's just not that into you. Move along and move on.
