The question of what happens when we die is something that people have debated for centuries. Is there an afterlife or do we end up worm food? Well, for the upcoming film “Wander Darkly,” the answer is a bit more complicated than that.
“Wander Darkly” tells the story of a married couple with a newborn child that experiences all the ups and downs of a relationsihp on the brink. And when the wife seemingly dies in a car accident, her spirit is left to wander through a dream-like world where she’s unsure what’s real and what’s just part of the afterlife. The film stars Sienna Miller, Diego Luna, Beth Grant, Aimee Carrero, Tory Kittles, and Vanessa Bayer. “Wander Darkly” comes from writer-director Tara Miele, who is most recently known for her TV directing with episodes of shows such as “Hawaii 5-0,” “Arrow,” and “Batwoman.”
Speaking to EW about her role in the film, Miller said, “I’m always looking to be challenged. I think the roles are a little better, I think people are more focused on more fully-fledged female characters in cinema. I was just fortunate to find two really rich people to play. I also think being a woman is messy and complicated and hard and emotional. And they felt very real to me, very grounded in a sense of reality. And that’s what I’m always looking for is, ‘Does this tell the truth about the human experience from a female perspective?'”
