Vince Vaughn is stepping behind the camera for the first time, directing a currently untitled TV pilot for Fox.
We were a bit surprised, but did some digging and found out that the project is one Vaughn has been attached to since late 2008. The project is a half hour sitcom about “a couple of young men who are just out of college and starting to experience the real world.” There are no details on the cast at this time. Vaughn is on board as executive producer and he developed the show as well. At the time the deal was made with Fox, the actor was given “a wide berth to cast the show and assemble the other creative elements as he sees fit.” It sounds very much like his own pet project, and we’re curious to hear more.
Filming started this week in Des Plains, Illinois. You can click here for set photos from outside the local Choo Choo Restaurant, where food is apparently served to you on a train. We really hope that food serving train makes it into the show.
Returning to the film world, Vaughn is next set to appear with Kevin James in the Ron Howard infidelity comedy, “Your Cheating Heart.”
