The thought process behind reboots in Hollywood isn’t that complicated. It usually involves using A Property That People Recognize, throwing some writers and talent at it, and then dressing it up in contemporary clothing. Vin Diesel himself is involved in rebooting the Michael Mann sort of iconic series, Shana Waterman (“24: Live Another Day,” “Wayward Pines“) is also involved, working for the actor’s One Race Television production company. There’s no word yet on what the new take on the show will be, but I’m just going to assume that Crockett and Tubbs will be more fast and furious and do “xXx” style extreme stunts. But don’t worry, it doesn’t look like Diesel is going to star — he’s just going to produce.
