Got a Tip?

Viggo Mortensen Is ‘Captain Fantastic,’ Miles Teller & Michael B. Jordan Reteam (Again) For Heist Comedy & More

Viggo Mortensen

No, Viggo Mortensen isn’t starring in some new Marvel movie, despite the name of the developing drama “Captain Fantastic.” Instead, the actor will be joining “28 Hotel Rooms” director Matt Ross‘ film about “an idealistic father who, after a decade of living off the grid in the forests of the Pacific Northwest, must return with his six young kids to assimilate back into society.” Man, just wait until he discovers “Breaking Bad” and “True Detective.” No spoilers. Production begins this summer. [Deadline

Tina Fey is getting ready to do “The Taliban Shuffle” (attn producers: please change title—it’s not cutesy, it’s kinda dumb). Anyway, Robert Carlock (“30 Rock,” “Saturday Night Live“) has penned the adaptation of Kim Barker‘s memoir about a journalist who is “a fish-out-of-water in Kabul, filing stories about militants, being a woman in wartime Iraq and Pakistan, dealing with boredom interspersed with dashes of violence and the promiscuous war correspondent culture.” Sounds like Fey is trying to stretch out her acting legs a bit. This one is still developing with a director being sought. [THR]

That Awkward Moment” stars and future “Fantastic Four” buds Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan are going to continue their bromance by starring in a comedy from ‘Awkward’ writer/director Tom Gormican. The untitled heist comedy, is said to be in the vein of “Ocean’s 11” (aren’t they all), and will take place in Macau. Free vacation! No word yet on when this might roll but it will definitely have to at least wait until they’re done working on the superhero flick which shoots this spring/summer. [The Wrap]

Lastly, Jennifer Aniston has taken the lead in “Mean Moms,” an adaptation of the book by Rosaline Wiseman. TV veteran Beth McCarthy-Miller will direct this one about “a happily married mother of two who moves from a small town to the high class suburbs where she is faced with confronting the cutthroat world of competitive parenting.” So, this is basically “Horrible Bosses” but with parents? Guess we’ll wait and see as this one awaits a greenlight to go ahead. [The Wrap]
