U.S. Trailer For Nash Edgerton’s Neo-Noir Thriller ‘The Square’

Here is the U.S. trailer for Nash Edgerton’s Australian neo-noir thriller “The Square” which was acquired by Bob Berney’s Apparition earlier this year.

The film is co-written by brother Joel Edgerton (the upcoming “The Thing” remake) and stars David Roberts and Clare van der Boom as an adulterous couple whose scheming leads to arson, blackmail and murder. Edgerton also co-stars alongside Anthony Hayes and Peter Phelps in the dark, moody affair which serves as a strong debut for Edgerton behind the camera after years as a stuntman on the likes of the ‘Star Wars’ prequels and the ‘Matrix’ trilogy.

After seeing a release in Australia in 2008 and hitting the festival circuit last year, the success of “The Square” has kickstarted the Edgertons’ Blue Tongue Films production company which now includes a stream of projects including David Michod’s Sundance hit “Animal Kingdom” (whose full trailer is due out next week) and Spencer Susser’s “Hesher.” The shingle also saw Luke Doolan’s short “Miracle Fish” nominated for an Oscar earlier this year.

“The Square” will see a stateside release on April 9th with Edgerton’s short, “Spider,” playing beforehand.
