Brian De Palma’s back, and firmly in his wheelhouse of sexual power plays and slithery narratives, with the thriller “Passion.” And after doing some festival jaunts last year, it’s headed to theaters and there’s a whole bunch of new stuff to look at.
The movie is about the relationship between an ad executive (Rachel McAdams) and her underling (Noomi Rapace), following the twisted machinations they play in order to climb the corporate ladder. It’s kind of like if “Working Girl” upped the ante and went on Cinemax late at night. The poster features a blonde and lacy-topped McAdams standing right behind and staring daggers at Rapace in standard corporate gear of black blouse and blazer, giving a quick insightful snapshot into the characters’ personas at play. And you can check out even more in the plethora of images here as well.
Check out our review from Venice here and see the poster (via Film.com) and pics below. “Passion” opens on August 30th.
This looks so mid-90s MGM. Is it ever coming out?
