Tyrese Issues ‘Fast 9’ Ultimatum: It’s Me Or Dwayne Johnson

Tyrese Gibson is not having the easiest of times at the moment. The actor and musician is currently going through a pretty ugly custody battle with his ex-wife over their 10-year-old daughter Shayla. It has spilled onto social media, where Gibson has made a tearful plea to his ex to sort things out, and in the process has dragged the “Fast & Furious” franchise into the mix.

The actor has made it clear he is not happy about the upcoming spinoff starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, particularly giving The Rock heat for breaking up “the family,” by agreeing to do his own standalone movie thing. It’s extra salt in the wound for Tyrese, who claims he actually turned down his opportunity to do the same.

At any rate, it’s all coming to a head now, with Gibson hitting Instagram to declare, “I’m sorry to announce that if Dewayne is in Fast9 there will no more Roman Peirce – You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours.”

No one is saying that Tyrese can’t be in “Fast 9” except Tyrese himself, who seems to be only one engaging in this feud. Johnson has mostly kept silent about all of this, as have the producers, with Tyrese continuing to stoke the fire.

Normally, this would be a sort of comical battle, but it’s actually a bit sad, as Tyrese is clearly going through some real-life troubles. Here’s hoping cooler heads prevail.
