The “Twilight” universe is all abuzz with rumors and, considering the accelerated production schedule Summit Entertainment has the whole thing under, it’s no wonder. The latest from many sources, including Collider.com via Twilighters.org (the latter apparently being a site dedicated to stalking members of the “Twilight” cast) is that Drew Barrymore will not be directing the third movie in the series, “Eclipse,” and it will instead be helmed by Paul Weitz, brother and production partner to “New Moon” director Chris Weitz.
If it’s true it could be another major scandal in the “Twilight” girl universe, as many were hoping to see the franchise returned to female hands after Catherine Hardwicke departed the franchise. Not to worry though ladies, your precious “Eclipse” should be safe in the hands of the man who’s producing “The Game,” a movie adaptation of Neil Strauss’s best-selling guide to how to picking up chicks by being a total dick. We have every confidence he understands the teenage part of your female mind.
In more tactile “Twilight” news, if you’re looking to get your fangirl on or perhaps guys who’d like to pick up on girls who don’t have sex before marriage there’s a Twi-con planned for late July in Dallas you might want to look in to.
Screw pap, Paul Weitz needs to do that real literary adaptation he attached himself to four years ago – Nick Flynn’s Another Bullshit Night in Suck City.
