From helming major studio projects to making small, no-budget indies, Richard Linklater has not only touched all corners of the industry, but has managed to retain his own singular voice no matter the size of the project. Even when his ambitions have been grand (“Boyhood,” the ‘Before‘ trilogy), the stories have never suffered, and in what could be otherwise anonymous studio projects (“School Of Rock“) he’s managed to inject with his own brand of laid back energy. One of the foremost American filmmakers of our time, Richard Linklater achieved cult immortality with the ‘90s classic Dazed and Confused, won critical respect for the sublime Before trilogy, and redefined cinematic storytelling with the groundbreaking Boyhood.
