I don't get phoned in from any of the voices. Dialed back maybe, but that's a good thing.
I can't wait.
By the way, you're the soundtrack guys…was there ever any more news about Jarvis Cocker contributing to the soundtrack? He talked about it a year ago and I haven't heard anything more about it.
It's unclear how many songs of Jarvis made the final cut. He said he recorded 3-4 songs and friends of ours who have seen it said they heard a few songs, but that info isn't out there yet and most of us haven't seen it yet.
His narration was already cut out of the film, so it's conceivable that not all the music he wrote will make it to the film, but that's purely speculation.
Speculation is better than what I've got, so I'll take it. Thanks.
The animation looks really clunky and weird, I see kids feeling more creeped out by this than entertained
That homemade look is completely intentional. I think the trailer rocks. Clooney's voice is a tad iffy–not sure if it fits with the style–but I'm betting I'll forget about it 10 minutes in.
i agree with phoned-in delivery and the animation just looks too choppy and weird. intentional perhaps, but kids these day (the intended audience…. maybe?) are going to just look at that and think it's antiquated. A lot of people are really lukewarm on this and i can't say I'm surprised.
To me it feels like they are embracing the fact that it's stopmotion and not trying to hide it like Coraline did (I love that film, but just saying).
Kids won't get it. Kids suck shit. It looks fucking great.
+1 to Gabe…I love the look. Reminiscent of the Cosgrove Hall Wind in the Willows series.

At least he's still using his font.
I'm loving every second of the trailer and I agree with knives, I think it's an intentional throwback kind of stop-motion look… I think its amazing that even though the film is stop motion is still looks like a wes anderson flick, anyone who doesn't believe in auteur theory need only rent his oeuvre. Fantastic!
I think it will be good not great. That is all.
I think this is where i get off the Anderson train frankly. It's been a nice ride and all, but it's time to go elsewhere.
