Tom Hardy's agent must be working overtime. Following this summer's double whammy of "The Dark Knight Rises" and "Lawless," the actor has signing up to movies and being offered more as his star goes on the rise. He's currently nearing the end of the shoot for "Mad Max: Fury Road" but over the past few months: he's been eyed/offered/sought out for Paramount's "Without Remorse," Michael Roskam's "Animal Rescue" and Warner Bros. "Tarzan" (which now looks like it's going to Alexander Skarsgard); signed up for "The Long Red Road" with Michael Shannon and Doug Liman's "Everest"; he's developing two anti-poaching movies and even has a stage project in the works. But this? Yeah, we're surprised.
Tom Hardy is now attached to star in the recently announced big screen adaptation of the hit video game "Splinter Cell." Though the project still isn't set up at a studio, that should end soon with Hardy on board, and there's a script in the works from Eric Warren Singer ("The International" and David O. Russell's upcoming untitled movie aka "American Bullshit"). The covert-op game is a massively popular one, but bringing button mashers to the multiplex has always been tricky.
However, with Michael Fassbender on "Assassin's Creed," it looks like video game movies are getting a bit more respectable. What's next? Jessica Chastain in "Grand Theft Auto"? Actually, that would be cool. That idea is free, Hollywood. [Deadline]
I'd rather see Gerard Bulter in the role of Fisher:
*Sam Fisher – Gerard Butler
*Irving Lambert – Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
*Anna Grimsdottir – Bryce Dallas Howard

Oh please don't. That goes for you too Fassbender.
