That film (“Happy Go Lucky”) got shafted, “I Love You So Long,” “Che,” etc. etc.
But because they didn’t have a guy in a costume that made a trillion bucks, no one freaked out about it.
It’s like Let The Right One In. Geeks could give a fuck about foreign films, but wait subtitles and VAMPIRES!
Then their ears start to prick up and they freak out when THEIR THING isn’t celebrated.
Lots of great things got overlooked this year like they do every year, but I just can’t respect or take the geek crowd seriously at all.
They’ll calm down. TDK was just the film that showed them the benefits of being “artsy,” as Batman Begins did with me. They’ll look for what they found in TDK, in other smaller films, and until 2 years from now will they’ll know what the hell they’re talking about.
But why are you upset by them? Are they threatening you? If that’s the case then know that it has nothing to do with the film, but just them. They’ll get like that over anything.
