TIFF will close out the 2014 festival with "A Little Chaos." The period film is led by Kate Winslet, with Stanley Tucci, Matthias Schoenaerts and Alan Rickman (who also directs) in support in this film that has a fairly unconventional plot. Here’s the synopsis: A landscape gardener with a taste for the unconventional is invited to design one of the fountains at the Palace of Versailles. As she battles with the weather, the perilous rivalries at the court of Louis XIV and her own private demons, she finds herself drawn closer to the formality and enigma of the architect who hired her.
Moving a completely different direction, Paul Dano is channeling Brian Wilson in Bill Pohlad‘s "Love & Mercy." Elizabeth Banks, John Cusack and Paul Giamatti make up the intriguing supporting cast. Here’s the synopsis: Focusing on Brian Wilson, the mercurial singer, songwriter and leader of The Beach Boys, Love & Mercy paints an unconventional portrait of the artist by interweaving seminal moments in his life, from his artistic genius to his profound struggles, and the love that keeps him alive.
Lastly, Kristen Stewart, Alec Baldwin, Kate Bosworth and Julianne Moore come together for the drama "Still Alice," in which a family struggles to stay together following a shocking revelation. Here’s the synopsis: Alice Howland, happily married with three grown children, is a renowned linguistics professor who starts to forget words. When she receives a devastating diagnosis, Alice and her family find their bonds tested. Alice’s struggle to stay connected to who she once was is frightening, heartbreaking, and inspiring.
I'd love to see still alice finally giving Julianne the Oscar and a nom for Kristen, which could be given trough Sils Maria but considering it's IFC, Still Alice becomes a stronger contender
I am disappointed in Canada TIFF, I was looking forward, we will have a comparison Clouds of Sils Maria with Cronenberg film MTTS. It will not happen to. He Knew He Could not handle it. On the Contrary, he will push again pattinson and his 10 minutes vulgar film with Moore.
Moore gets her next film screening at the TIFF premiere of Still Alice.
In addition, we've all read, that Stewart will be in Singapore for his film Equals. She will not be in Toronto for the premiere of Still Alice.
Sometimes hard work that Stewart certainly is, not enough. Man's world and PR team Pattinson.
