In case you don’t know what the headline is in reference to (shame on you). So here’s a new photo of Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp in the upcoming spy thriller, “The Tourist.”
And oof, we have to ask, has Jolie (and particularly Depp) reached the age (35 and 47, respectively) where they need to be photoshopped/airbrushed-over in publicity photos? Depp especially. He’s closing in on 50 believe it or not, but he’s looked ageless forever. Until now? Either way, both of them look alien and weird in these photos for sure. They’re even uncomfortable to look at.
Here’s what you need to know about “The Tourist” in case you haven’t been following our blog closely this year. Directed by Florian Henckel Von Donnersmarck (the German helmer behind “The Lives Of Others”), “The Tourist” is a romantic spy drama based on the 2005 French film “Anthony Zimmer,” that follows a bumbling American tourist (Depp) as he finds himself romantically involved with an international spy (Jolie) in the vein of a Hitchcockian tale, but don’t get that confused with an Oscar bid (as some already have). An entertaining thriller that performs well box-office-wise, sure, but Academy statuettes? Not likely. The film co-stars Timothy Dalton, Steven Berkoff, Paul Bettany and Rufus Sewell and hits theaters December 10. Full photo below the jump, be forewarned.
i dislike Depp's hair(very Nicolas Cage in his last movie)and what happened his cheekbones?
the original movie was a nice movie but nothing was incredible
Did Inglourious Basterds and District 9 sound like Oscar bait films BEFORE THEY CAME OUT? NO. So never say never.
Eddie Vedder is going to kick ass in this movie.
this movie is gonna be good. the director? hmm..who the fuck is he?
'lives of others' was very good…no disrespect.
Lives Of Others was excellent, but there's small element of fluff to this story. It's not unlike Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief which is fun and entertaining, but…
I think FHVD is above this material frankly, but he wanted to dip his toe in Hollywood and found an entry point. He'll probably make it as thrilling as possible whereas someone else may have leaned toward the lite aspects of it.
i agree about the material and .."dip his toes into Hollywood?" OK. but he made one great movie and now he's Doc Hollywood? he apparently needs to take a note from numerous other European directors.
LOL eddie vedder is actor now
