Olivia Munn Reveals Her Desire For ‘The Newsroom’ To Return

For three seasons, HBO show “The Newsroom” provided us with a fictional look behind-the-scenes of journalists struggling in the face of corporate, commercial, and personal road bumps to put on a news show. At the same time, the series provided us with a look at our own world and media. “The Newsroom” came to an end in 2014, but Olivia Munn suggests it might not stay that way.

One of the stars of “The Newsroom,”  Munn played the role of Psylocke in the most recent X-Men film “X-Men: Apocalypse.” While On tour promoting the franchise, Munn spoke to ETonline about the possibility of the HBO show’s return.

Tom Sadoski and myself, we’ve actually been having conversations with [Aaron] Sorkin about that,” she tells ET. “He’s very busy, but we have very high hopes that it would be able to come together, hopefully.”

Looks like we aren’t the only ones that miss the series. Tom Sadoski co-starred with Munn as a series regular of “The Newsroom,” along with actors Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, John Gallagher Jr., Dev Patel, Allison Pill, and Sam Waterson. Aaron Sorkin was ‘The Newsroom’s’ creator, writer, and showrunner, and certainly has been busy since the show’s conclusion. His other works include “Charlie Wilson’s War,” “Moneyball,” “Steve Jobs,” “The Social Network,” and recently 2017’s “Molly’s Game.” If he could find time in his busy schedule, though, Munn, Sadoski, and fans all over would love to see the return of the broadcasting journalism series. With today’s political, social, and media climate, “The Newsroom” would be more relevant than ever.
