FX‘s “The Bear” was one of the hit TV shows of the summer, and that’s in no small part to Jeremy Allen White‘s riveting lead performance. Season 2 of the series is on the way, but White now has another big project lined up to keep him busy between then and now.

Deadline reports that White will co-star alongside Zac Efron and Harris Dickinson in A24‘s “The Iron Claw,” Sean Durkin‘s saga about the Von Erich wrestling family. White will play Kerry Von Erich, with Efron playing Kevin and Dickinson playing David. The film is Durkin’s follow-up to 2020’s “The Nest,” with Access Industries co-financing the movie with A24.
“The Iron Claw” charts the rise and fall of the Von Erich wrestling dynasty which made a lasting impact on the sport from the 1960s to the present day. Durkin both writes and directs the film, as he did on “The Nest” and his debut feature, “Martha Marcy May Marlene.”
Besides “The Bear” and “The Ironic Claw,” White also stars in Robinson Devor‘s upcoming film, “You Can’t Win.” That film’s a drama set in the 1920s hobo underworld, about the unusual friendship between an adventurer and a prostitute. As for Efron, he stars next in “The Greatest Beer Run Ever,” which just had its world premiere at TIFF. Dickinson’s also had a busy year, with starring turns in “Where The Crawdads Sing,” “Triangle Of Sadness,” and “See How The Run,” out next Friday.
With White, Efron, and Dickinson on board, not to mention Durkin directing, “The Iron Claw” sounds like yet another A24 to get excited about. Expect a late 2023/early 2024 release for the film.
