‘The Informer’ Trailer: Joel Kinnaman & Ana De Armas Star In This Long-Delayed Crime Thriller

It’s been almost two years since we had the first trailer for the upcoming thriller, “The Informer.” And while delays almost never mean a good thing for a film, perhaps the long delay for “The Informer” is actually a benefit for the profile of the feature. You see, over the past two years, one of the leads, Ana de Armas, went from a relative unknown to one of the biggest names in Hollywood after her role in “Knives Out” and her upcoming role in “No Time to Die,” making “The Informer” a star-studded affair.

As seen in the trailer for “The Informer,” the film follows an ex-special operations soldier that works as an FBI informant to help take down the Polish mafia in New York City. However, when the job goes sideways, the informant is forced to go back to a prison where he previously served a sentence for manslaughter. Only this time, he has to take down the mafia from within the walls of the prison.

As mentioned, the film stars Ana de Armas in a supporting role, but the lead is Joel Kinnaman. They’re joined by Rosamund Pike, Common, and Clive Owen in the feature. “The Informer” is directed by Andrea Di Stefano. The filmmaker previously directed the true-crime thriller, “Escobar: Paradise Lost,” which stars none other than Benicio Del Toro in the lead role.
