And just like that, the awards season has awakened. Let it in. The folks at the Gotham Awards have unveiled their nominees for the year, and there’s a couple of things to bear in mind: these have pretty much zero impact on the Oscars (though there is the occasional overlap) and by design is more indie film focused. So, it explains why "The Diary Of A Teenage Girl" has more nominations than the Oscar contending "Carol."
Indeed, the Sundance coming-of-age tale scored four nods, ahead of three each for both "Carol" and "Tangerine." And throughout, buzzworthy Oscar names sit right alongside other, smaller performances and works that won’t get their due a few months from now. So you’ll see Brie Larson honored for her turn in "Room" with Blythe Danner for "I’ll See You In My Dreams." And it’s why "Carol" and "Heaven Knows What" are both contending for Best Feature.
The Gothams will be handed out on November 30th. Check out the full nominees below.

How was Larson eligible if her movie is an Irish- Canadian production? Gotham rules say that the film must be directed and\’or produced by an US-born or based filmaker. Abrahamson is Irish as the producers. This has zero credibility
