‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ Trailer: New Disney+ Show Follows The Galaxy’s Most Notorious Bounty Hunter

When Disney purchased Lucasfilm and the rights to the “Star Wars” brand in October 2012, who could have precited after nine years and five new films that the most treasured new addition to the canon would instead be a TV series? Well, critics and audiences agree: Disney+‘s “The Mandalorian” may be the most successful thing of this new era of a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

That’s all subject to change, of course, with spin-offs to the hit show on the way. First up: “The Book Of Boba Fett.” The new show follows the titular bounty hunter as he traverses the Galaxy with his mercenary cohort Fennec Shand. Expect more mysteries of Fett’s shadowy past to be unveiled.

Here’s a brief synopsis of the show from Disney+:

“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure, finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

Temuera Morrison and Mina-Na Wen both return as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand. Details are slim right now on other cast members. However, considering this show operates on the same timeline as “The Mandalorian” and two other upcoming spin-offs, there’s bound to be a cross-over in characters between all four series.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson, all executive producers on “The Mandalorian,” return to do the same for “The Book Of Boba Fett.”  Robert Rodriguez also joins them as an executive producer. Favreau, Filoni, and Rodriguez also share directing duties on the new show with Bryce Dallas Howard, who directed two episodes of “The Mandalorian.”

There is no word from Disney on “Ashoka” and “Rangers Of The New Republic” yet, but given that all three new shows tie into a larger story arc, news on them should drop soon. Until then, watch the new trailer for “The Book Of Boba Fett” below, and watch the show when it premieres exclusively on Disney+ on December 29.
