Got a Tip?

‘The Amazing Spider-Man 3’ & ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 4’ Get Official Release Dates

nullWell, it looks like the series spawned by Marc Webb will accomplish what Sam Raimi failed to do: get to four films. With a trilogy long expected, the expansion to a fourth film is certainly big news — especially when the second movie hasn’t dropped yet — and perhaps speaks to Sony‘s confidence in the series, or their desire not to be left behind in the superhero race.

Either way, the studio has dated “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” for June 10, 2016, and the “The Amazing Spider-Man 4” on May 4, 2018, which means — if you do your math quickly enough — a new Peter Parker adventure every two years. Nerds rejoice! The sequel has been packing in the characters with Rhino (Paul Giamatti), Electro (Jamie Foxx), Harry Osborn/Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) and (rumored) Vulture (Colm Feore) slated to appear in what is a supposed built up to the Sinister Six. If that’s the case, they’ll have time to stretch it out.

So, are you ready for four Spider-Man movies? Let us know below — and oh yeah, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” drops on May 2, 2014. [Deadline]

  1. If you're like me and really, really disliked The Amazing Spiderman, you will probably enjoy this Honest Trailer of the movie. If you're not familiar with Honest Trailers, you owe it to yourself to check them out. They're all pretty great (and spot on).

Go to Youtube and search "honest trailers spiderman."

  2. Let's see how this plans out before we get ahead of ourselves studio. Do you have Andrew Garfield under contract for four films? How about the chick set to play Mary-Jane? Wasn't it spiraling budgetary issues that killed the Sam Raimi series? Didn't your Amazing Spider-man 1 cost around $200 million when all was said & done? Didn't Sam Raimi's original series once have release dates or at least schedules planned for a Part 4, 5 AND 6?

Let's see how this all goes.

  3. Surely, surely that spectacular crashing and burning that Spielberg and Lucas recently mooted will come out of the superhero-franchise sector? Can anyone really be bothered to care about Spiderman, Superman, all of The Avengers, The Fantastic 4 and how ever many other of these largely identical movies seem to be scheduled for the next few years?
