Got a Tip?

‘The Adjustment Bureau’ Helmer George Nolfi Will Be Up ‘One Minute To Midnight’

nullWhile "The Adjustment Bureau" became a surprise sleeper hit last spring, taking in over $120 million worldwide, George Nolfi has remained mostly under the radar since. He's got a couple projects brewing as a producing and/or screenwriting vehicles, and he was shortlisted to helm "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," but it looks like he's got another directorial gig lining up.

THR reports that that Nolfi has signed on rewrite and direct "One Minute To Midnight." Based on book "One Minute to Midnight: Kennedy, Khrushchev and Castro on the Brink of Nuclear War" by Michael Dobbs, with a previous draft of the screenplay written by Robert S. Edwards, the movie will find Nolfi taking on the Cuban Missle Crisis. The topic was already tackled in the respectable 2000 drama "Thirteen Days" whicle nerds will recall that it served as the backdrop for "X-Men: First Class." But it's one of those historical events that can be told from a variety of perspectives, and serves as one the moments where America came closest to nuclear war, so we'll be curious to see the angle Nolfi takes here.

The project is set up over at Fox 2000 and while casting is a long way off, Nolfi can count out Paul Giamatti as Khursshchev as he'll be playing him for Jay Roach's own Cold War era flick, "K Blows Top."
